  • The Schola Cantorum Basiliensis is a conservatory and research institution dedicated to the study of historical performance practice, and is one of very few institutions offering degrees in early brasses.
  • Will Kimball's Trombone History Timeline: Will Kimball, Professor of Trombone at Brigham Young University, provides a wonderful overview of the history of the trombone, replete with extensive iconography. I highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in the history of the instrument.
  • The book Sackbut Solutions by Adam Woolf is, in my opinion, the quintessential study resource for anyone interested in historical trombone basics. The book provides a vocal, historically-oriented approach to technique, repertoire and interpretation, while remaining accessible to modern players. Highly recommended!
